The Big Point Five

Our little baby is already 6 months old! It's been a big few days for him. Sunday was the big 6 month mark, then Monday he had his first taste of solid food (rice cereal), he sat up unsupported for the first time, and I can finally feel his first tooth coming in! He's also become quite the scooter and he rolls with the best of them. This little guy can get wherever he wants to go and I'm pretty sure crawling isn't too far in the future. He's still near the top of the charts for height (27 inches now) and at the bottom for weight (14 lbs.) but hopefully these solid foods will help him chunk up a little.

Take a look at my adorable, growing boy.

6 mos. old!

Sitting up like a big boy.

Getting ready to eat! He looks a little unsure...
But he loved it! He ate almost the whole bowl. Admittedly, it was mostly breastmilk with a little rice cereal (I just followed the directions on the box). But he was a fan.

He was really full afterwards:)

And here's the video. You certainly don't have to watch the whole thing. It's mainly for the grandmas.

Trooper has started doing this thing with his mouth when he gets whiny. It actually makes me laugh every time. The way he closes his mouth also has him making the "m" sound so he always says "mama" when he's sad. I know he doesn't know what he's saying yet, but it still makes my heart melt whenever he says it.

Here he's showing off his scootin' skills.

One day we had left the air mattress leaned up against the wall. Trooper was moving around and kicked the air mattress and it fell down on top of him. To my surprise, he didn't freak out at all. I lifted it up and he looked at me with this smile on his face.
He loved it! So I let him keep playing.

Playing on the iPad with Dad.

He figured out how to get the diaper off...

Loving the jumper.

We are loving life with this little boy. The past six months have been the best ever. It's unbelievable the joy that this little one has brought into our lives. He's awesome.

5

Troop hit the five month mark about a week ago.
Here are some cute pics of my boy taken in the last month.

The next three are all so cute that I couldn't pick just one. So you get all of them.

He looks majorly concerned in this one.

Holdin his own bottle. Such a big boy.

Loves to read. Just like his momma.

Doesn't he look so grown up in this one?

He sure loves his blankies.

This is how Trooper enjoyed General Conference.

And here he is enjoying one of his favorite games.

Family Update

Just an update on our daily happenings. Let's start with the TroopMeister.

He has found his feet and finds them quite the source of entertainment.

He also loves to stand. His little legs are getting pretty strong and he's getting better at controlling his hips so he can balance. Here he is, just hugging his daddy.

This is his latest preferred way to communicate.

Here's his cute little laugh. Whenever we set him in his changing station, he starts moving like crazy. He thinks changing time = playing time.

And he's become quite the roller. Usually just from back to tummy. If he ever rolls from tummy to back, it's an accident and he looks at us like "what just happened?!" As soon as we put him on the ground now, he rolls over. Then he starts to whine because he doesn't enjoy his tummy so much. But as soon as we put him on his back again, he'll roll right over. He's still got a few things to figure out.

Now on to Brent. He's working hard in school and was inducted into the honorable Phi Kappa Phi a couple weeks ago.

 With some friends...
 With me:)

And... he became an intramural basketball champion! Finally won that coveted t-shirt.

Brent's party in the rain the other night (see the last post) inspired some fun at our ward party on Saturday. I love that my husband is the type to get involved in all the fun. In fact, he's usually the one pushing the fun to the next level. Take a look.

And me? I've decided to take up running in an effort to get rid of those last ten pounds of baby fat. But I'll spare you the picture of me after a run. You're welcome.

4 Months

My little man is 4 months old today. What?! Fastest/best four months ever. He's still mastering the rolling thing, but he's talking a ton, sleeps like a champ, and smiles and laughs all the time. He's also still 75th percentile for height (25.5 inches long) and still 25th percentile for weight (12.2 lbs.). I'm grateful to have a lightweight baby, just as long as he's healthy.
Here's the handsome boy himself.

His favorite toy right now seems to be just a simple blanket. As long as he can grab it, roll around in it, and eat it.

Look at those baby blues!

He's fun to have around.

Trooper has started talking to himself like this when he wakes up now. It's pretty cute.

Meanwhile, Brent's in the midst of intramural basketball. Doing pretty good, too.

It's been raining pretty steadily these past few days in Hawaii. And when it rains here, it RAINS. The other night, Brent couldn't resist the huge puddle that was forming outside our house. So he threw on his swimsuit, grabbed a boogie board, and had some fun. All the other boys had to get in on the fun too. Eventually, they built a ramp out of three boogie boards and Brent got some pretty good air. He's fun to have around too.
