..Two Months..

Navy is 10 weeks old! At her two month appointment, the tiny girl weighed 9 lbs. even (3%) and was 22 and 3/4 in. long (61%). She's skinny, but her weight gain is steady. It's funny because at birth she weighed exactly 7 lbs., at one month she was exactly 8 lbs., and at two months she's 9 lbs. She has started smiling a ton! We love it! Whenever you talk to Navy or even look at her, she gives you this huge smile like she's so so happy you're there. She's also "talking" a lot. Which brings me to this video; she already said her first word! ;) 

At 8 weeks Navy was sleeping about 7 hours between her nighttime feedings. At 10 weeks, she slept a solid 8.5 hrs! We're still working on making that the norm; it's still between 7-8 hrs most nights. Her spitting up has stopped for the most part so I don't know what caused it. I haven't really changed my diet at all. Sometimes she seems irritated, like she has an upset stomach, and I've been thinking maybe I need to hold back on the dairy products, but then most the time she seems just fine so I'm not sure what to do. She has started taking a liking to binkies which I have mixed feelings about. But it sure is nice to be able to easily comfort her when we're out and about. She likes to suck on her fist when she can find it. Over the past month Navy battled some pretty crazy baby acne but, thanks to coconut oil, she's back to her soft, beautiful baby skin. She has also started holding in her poop until she has a huge blowout once or maybe twice a day... So that's fun... Actually we've got it down to where when we hear her start to poop, we strip off her clothes and lay her on a changing pad for 10 minutes until she's done. Then the mess is minimal. The scary thing is when we go out and she hasn't pooped yet that day...

Troop still loves Navy and she loves him back. He likes to include her in all his games and projects. Randomly he'll say, "Mom! I need to snuggle her!" Navy loves to watch him and honestly lights up when she hears his voice. She seems to actually like when he piles blankets on her and just lays there patiently while Trooper builds "camp-outs" and forts around her. He turns on this sweet, comforting voice when she starts to cry and I love hearing him sing to her. He sings her the songs that I have always sung to him, which are the songs that my mom sang to me and that my grandma sang to her. So it's pretty sweet to hear my own little boy singing them to my little girl now. He started calling her "Navers." It's his own little nickname for her which I just think is the cutest thing. So now we call her Navers or NavyBean or just Bean.

She really does love it. And watching Trooper put it all together keeps her entertained.

Navy is very content to just lay around and look at everything. She also loves to sit propped up and watch the world. She likes to kick her little legs like crazy and grab a fistful of blankets, her clothes, or my hair. She really is a happy, content, cute little thing.
