First Few Days

Here's the family who came to our welcome party at Lydia and Michael's on Saturday night. See what I mean about being surrounded by great people?

Chinamen's Hat. A little island right off the coast.

This is the view that surrounds us.

The famous Matsumoto's Shave Ice.

These are from our free day at the Polynesian Cultural Center as part of New Student Orientation. The PCC is one of the best things about this island. And now we live right next door! Most of the people who work there are my schoolmates and knowing someone who works there has definite privileges. For example, we found out that one of Brent's mission buddies works backstage during the nightshow so he gave us a tour before the show. We saw all the dancers and performers in their nightly devotional. We saw all of the costumes and props, including the fire knives! Then, we were introduced to some of the dancers and we got extra good seats to watch the show. So Brent is trying to get a job at the PCC so that we can get all of you in when you come to visit!

Brent volunteered to be a guardsman at the New Zealand village. He has a really good Haka face.

And the best part is... we can go back any time we want! With our student IDs, we can just walk up to the back gate and get in free every day before 6pm. And this is why we're going to BYU-Hawaii:)
